In thousands of households in Revere, Everett, Malden, Medford and Melrose, alarm clocks lost their minds and started blinking "12:00," Channel 4 reports.

At least twice yesterday we lost power in East Boston. Although our building's light came back pretty quickly, lights on the paths in the park seemed to stay out for some time. Has anyone else noticed that we have a lot of power outages in East Boston?

(pulls covers back with claws, pats face with paw) Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs directly into my ear.
I was in bed past the approved time on what seemed to be a weekday. One of my cats wanted me to know that.
I looked at my clock, which should have had a battery backup (fail). It was blinking. I checked my husband's cel phone and it said it was the normal waking time.
I don't know when the power went off, but I know that it must have come on shortly after 6am. I rushed upstairs and made sure that our gecko's heat lamp was back on, because the house temp was in the high 50s.
my batttery backup failed

my batttery backup failed too. Conspiracy? I didn't even have a cat to wake me up.
I had that happen years ago:

I had that happen years ago: rare important meeting, rare power outage, alarm clock battery backup failed.
For my current alarm clock, I intentionally got a low-power one that runs on batteries exclusively.
So, that explains it.

Woke up to blinking clocks. I think the power went out sometime around 5:15. It was back on in my house by 5:45.
I lucked out, it seems to

I lucked out, it seems to have affected everyone around me, even a few streets over, but not my apartment.
I depend on my cellphone as an alarmclock anyway, just because my apartment is very very old (in a nice victorian classic sort of way, well at times lol) so the power tends to flicker quite a bit for no apparent reason.
