Lincoln Street scene. Photo by Jonathan Ng.
A brawl around 10 p.m. on Lincoln Street at Beach brought police rushing in, and at least one person bleeding from getting hit in the head with a bottle. Police are searching the street for the casing from the one shot somebody may have fired into the air.

I'm curious where all the people in this photo/brawl came from. I'm sure most came from the Corner Pub, which I see a lot of people hanging around when I pass by South Station or Chinatown. But where do they get their crowd?
I looked it up on Yelp and saw that it is a dive bar with lots of regulars, but I don't quite understand where all these regulars come from. Clearly not from the high rent Leather District or from nearby Chinatown.
After work crowd from downtown, ok. But 10pm on Sunday night in the Leather District? Is the Corner Pub really a destination dive bar? That's a thing?
I was wondering the same thing

I used to work around there in the 80s and 90s when the Corner Bar was still Wegie's, which it had been for years and years. I stopped in occasionally. it was a smattering of Chinatown folks and a smattering of people who worked in the area. Keep in mind in those days there were no high end residences around. Or high end restaurants or clubs for that matter. It certainly wasn't a destination place. The crowd in the photo doesn't seem like the old clientele I remember, and I don't think the Corner Bar is known for a troublesome crowd, judging from Yelp. I wonder if this was a one off kind of thing?

The crowd was there for a show at Savvor. I was there - it wasn't a good scene.
