The Supreme Judicial Court today ordered a new trial for a Kingston couple who had been awarded $3.5 million because their house and yard kept getting pummeled by golf balls from a neighboring course, ruling the judge in the case had bogeyed his instructions to the jury. Read more.

Boston could soon be awash in places to hit your putts without worrying about the weather: With one indoor simulated golf "course" already planned for West Broadway in South Boston, companies are now proposing two more: A similar full-swing facility across from City Hall, where the wax museum used to be, and a mini-golf range in a new space in the Seaport. The Zoning Board of Appeals today approved a proposal for a golf "course" at which people could sign up for tee times to play 18 holes of golf on computerized simulations, then retire to a "19th Hole" lounge to talk over their rounds - all year long and even at night. And should they somehow injure themselves, there'll be a a CVS right upstairs. Read more.

WBZ reports Gov. Baker says any decision on reopening the state's links will have to wait for a recommendation from the new Reopening Advisory Board he announced yesterday. That board is scheduled to make its industry-by-industry recommendations by May 18 - based on a reduction in Covid-19 cases and hospitalization, which, the governor said today, we've yet to see.
