EaBo Clipper checks and finds Curt Schilling is registered as unenrolled, not Republican.

Meanwhile, Lance reposts his first-in-the-nation call for Schilling to run for Senate - back in 2006.

Schilling says stop worshiping ball players, just accept the fact that tons of players (but not him, he hastens to add) juiced up, and don't you dare suggest 2004 is now "tainted:"

... Relish in the Halladays, Rolens, Sabathias, Lowells, Counsells, Variteks, Garnetts, Jameses, Bruschis, Vrabels, the Jason Bays of the world. Relish in men of supreme character and tireless work ethic who respect the game and their teammates and suit up every day to leave it all on the field. If 100 more names come out I can still give you my word there are a lot more great men and phenomenal people in the game than not ...

Then go home and raise your own damn kids with your own set of values, integrity and morals. Be accountable to them and responsible for them and stop blaming video games or the 25-year-old kid from the Dominican who can hit a baseball 455 feet but you don't know and never will, for the "problems of today's youth". It starts and ends under your own roof. Your kids idolize the people you allow them to, and believe things you don't refute or discuss, and that's no one's fault but your own.
...

Meanwhile, Comcast SportsNet interviews Jonathan Papelbon about Mannygate.

... I don't know who that guy is. He quit on me, he quit on our team ...

This is the deal, regardless of what you take and regardless what you put in your body, every year at Spring Training they give us a long list in Spanish and in English of what you can do and what you can't do. There are no excuses.

The good news: He's reduced the price of his Medfield estate by 37.5%, so it's priced to moooove. The bad news: That means it's still going to set you back $5 million.

The Onion Sports Network nails it.

Peter Gammons gets the scoop.

Soxaholix is depressed thinking that now some people might feel sorry for him.

Cameron Martin wishes Curt Schilling would shut up.

Schilling himself thanks A-Rod:

... It doesn't make him any less guilty, any less accountable or any less of a Yankee (subtle Yankee jab) but it's refreshing as hell ...

Curt Schilling doesn't think much of Dan Shaughnessy's take on contracts in the Age of Coach Jags:

So CHB chimes in on the BC coaching fiasco in about as timely a fashion as reporting on the Lincoln Assassination at the outbreak of WWI. Sweet. In the world of hypocrites he’s vaulted to the top spot. ...

Oh, snap. Schilling, who sometimes maybe, just maybe, doesn't know when to shut up, then goes on and on about what a loser Shaughnessy is, with copious examples from his coverage of the Red Sox dating back to Roger Clemens days.

By adamg - Mon, 12/01/2008 - 3:21pm

Does this mean he gets to share a press room with the CHB?

Big Schill actually announced the move on his blog last week, but I saw it and went, "oh," then went in search of my daily dose of gross T news or something.

In which Big Schill calls out Manny Ramirez. It's gone from 38 Pitches, but the thing about RSS is that nothing's ever really deleted, so Pink Hat Hell reposts the whole thing and adds in commentary on what Schilling can do with his undead post.

AP: Curt Schilling could have been ready to pitch in the AL championship series, according to his surgeon.

Curt Schilling: I have not spoken with Craig in two weeks since our last 'check up' but the comments he made were his own:

He, unfortunately, like me has little to no filter when asked about things he feels comfortable with knowledge wise. My arm and pitching, and shoulders, are certainly topics he is smarter than anyone I've ever met on.

However, like so many times before, the timing is horrific. ...

Schilling posts photos from his shoulder surgery. Fun for budding surgeons everywhere.

Photo plus bonus Curt thoughts on the Youk/Manny dustup (nothing to see, move along), Manny being Manny, the amazing Jon Lester story and, of course, his thoughts on the Celtics game:

... Kevin Garnett, and not that this needs to be stated, but I'll say it anyway, is as focused and locked in as any athlete in any sport I've been around. From pre-game shoot around to last seconds on the clock, this kid is legit. The intensity and reputation are there, wow. His eyes are on the floor, or the ball, all game. What an incredible pleasure it is to watch and be a fan of. I am blown away in that he came out of high school, something that can be a huge disadvantage, and has ALWAYS maintained who he was purported to be. ...

Shaughnessy is in full-bore shank mode today, ripping into Curt "Big Lug" Schilling. Why'd he wait so long? Now that he's getting older, must take him longer to collect all his bile in a jar. Or as Dan Shaughnessy Watch puts it:

... In the end, this was an amateurish hack job. In the ultimate irony....Shaughnessy, the media whore himself, is spread too thin with writing books and showing up on TV to be capable of writing a legitimate piece. I wonder if Shaughnessy wakes up in the middle of night and sees the beady eyes of a monster in the corner and thinks to himself "That must be the Big Lug" before he realizes that he is just looking in the mirror.
