The JFK Library Foundation says the Dorchester library and museum will re-open to the public tomorrow. In a separate statement e-mailed to reporters, it adds:
The sudden dismissal of federal employees at the JFK Library forced the museum to close today. As the Foundation that supports the JFK Library, we are devastated by this news and will continue to support our colleagues and the Library.
It directs reporters to the Washington press office of the Musk-controlled National Archives and Records Administration for laying off at least five federally funded library employees.

It has everything to do with King Musk blazing an indiscriminate path of carnage through the federal government, firing any possible person who does not have full union/labor protections and even those that do, in the name of cutting 4% of the federal budget so they can give tax breaks to trillionaires.
They also fired the guys managing the nuclear arsenal and then went oopsy-poopsy and desperately tried to backpedal it. These are not targeted or strategic firings.

They broke ground for his library in the summer of 1977.... And completed it in the winter of 1979.
Obama left office very beginning of 2017...

Obviously this is a bs move by the administration, but it just seems like all the fired people were frontline workers for the public (ticket sales, gift shop, etc.), and they were let go because they had only been there for a year (on "probation") or less. Well, yeah. Nobody works a job like that for more than a year, it's a college student job. The rest of the staff was caught off guard and had to close since they didn't know how to ring up a cash register. Sure wish both the museum and the Globe would communicate all this correctly. But again, I agree it was all part of the really effed up directions of the administration. Normally I would say "don't mess with Boston and the JFK Library," but these are not normal times.
