At 9:55 p.m., Alden reported a greenish meteor up above. Anybody else see it?
Interestingly, Noah Gray, a CNN reporter down in New York, reports he and everybody else on the rooftop he was on saw it.
Ed note: Green meteor? Let's hope we don't wake up tomorrow blind and chased by carnivorous plants. And, yes, I cannot help repeating that after every meteor sighting.

Yesterday people in Washington and Montana saw it, and tonight it is just possile that around midnight-1am you might see it if you are in a particularly dark area north of Boston. But overall, this current geomagnetic storm is not as dramatic as predicted.
Here's the site to go to for best info and pics for stuff like this:

The home page currently has a great pic of the aurora and a green Taurid fireball, btw!

Oh, how dearly I want to see this, some day. Pity that it always occurs late at night.....and usually in cold, dark, remote places. What's up with that? :)
It's probably a Taurid

According to people in the know, not only this meteor shower is here but the Aurora Borealis is visible from Massachusetts. I didn't go outside because I thought there would be too much light pollution and now I regret it.

light-polluted areas, mainly the Perseids from rural areas of New Hampshire, and green meteors are pretty common. Still hoping to witness the sunset phenomenon known as the green ray.
That's the first thing I thought of:

The Day of the Triffids. Thank you for bringing it up. Even though we don't have triffids (yet), I would never watch a green meteor. What a great book.
