My family still calls it Tonic, but I think its dying out. I have asked those from Boston, or South Shore area, and not many call it that anymore, mostly just Soda.JenRoslindale/Stoughton

We moved to Florida almost 13 years ago and we still call it "tonic."

The Boss was a two liter of Pepsi, the Coke equivalent was the Crowd Pleaser. We always said tonic in North Cambridge but only a few of the old school types use that now. When my sister came back from living in Wyoming ( the state not the square) she got us all saying soda.

I grew up in Maine with both parents calling a 2-liter of soda a Boss. I didn't even realize it was called a 2-liter until I asked my husband to pick me up a Boss of Soda and he had no clue what that was.
