Denise Jillson, executive director of the Harvard Square Business Association reports that when she tried to run a Longfellow House credit card for its annual $110 membership dues yesterday, the credit-card company declined the charge from the National Parks Service site - because of Reichsleiter Musk's diktat limiting federal credit-card transactions to just a dollar.
And now the Roman-saluting product of apartheid and his 34-times convicted felon toady in the White House have made a new enemy: The Harvard Square Business Association:
We called to confirm the credit card number and was told they received notice from Washington DC that their credit card limit had been reduced to $1.00.
We understand there are bigger issues at stake; education, health care, veteran’s services, food stamps, and social security to name just a few. However, we must also know our history and understand our forebears fight for freedom. The Longfellow House - Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site provides visitors from across the globe with historical knowledge and offers folks the experience of being in the same physical space as the first President of the United States of America.
Like so many reversals out of Washington DC of late, this funding matter, may resolve itself in a few days. We surely hope so. We assured the administrator that since the federal government wouldn’t pay their dues, we will "comp" them. Their partnership is too important, their presence is too sacred to all we hold dear.
That fact that this situation actually happened is appalling and unconscionable. The fact this it is not astonishing is a sad testament to where we are in our country today.
It is unprecedented for us to use this platform in this manner, but these are unprecedented times. Silence is complicity. We will not be complicit.

Denise Jillson and the Harvard Square businesses are learning that in a world of oligarchs simply being well off is no longer enough. For years Denise Jillson has fought against rent control. She has supported Mitt Romney. She was with high stakes business Republicans over and over again. The businesses and landlords in Harvard Square fought for lots of very pro business things. Now they seem to be involved in several fights with billionaires. Gerald Chan pushed their limits with his choices. Now they see the chaos in DC reaches into their zone. This is not about Longfellow House, this is about Cambridge itself. The entire city floats in the air because of government money. Harvard , MIT and all the non profits. The Volpe Center and so much more. It shed its industrial past long ago and the threat is real for them if the government money stops flowing. Even the Republicans and big money business owners see the writing on the wall if the Trump end game is fulfilled. It does not matter how much money you have or how big your walls are. The billionaires hold the cards and the chickens are coming home to roost.
The fact that this person who represents this agency that represents those interests would make a post like this shows how spooked the well to do outside of extreme circles are.

This may have been a "Musk Administration" move but it has Marjorie Taylor Greene's (an actual elected government official) fingerprints all over it.
